Resources for Customers

Con Edison provides an extensive array of resources to help customers of its utility companies become more active in using energy wisely to curb consumption, trim energy costs, and actively participate in furthering energy sustainability.

Media Advisories – Con Edison of New York and O&R place messages in major dailies, local broadcast media, local newspapers, and on outdoor advertising to publicize energy-efficiency educational campaigns, particularly in the summer months. To see the print ads and hear the broadcast messages visit the Con Edison of New York and O&R Web sites.

"Power of Green" Web Pages – A virtual home tour, packed with energy saving tips, is available on the Con Edison of New York or O&R website.

Web Sites for Kids - Because the future and the environment belong to our children, these colorful, lively interactive sites introduce a number of energy-related concepts to children of all ages at coned.com and oru.com. Kids can explore the sites, and even play games, to learn about sources of energy, safety, global warming, and valuable energy-savings tips.

EnergyLine 1-(800)-609-4488 – A toll-free information line for customers gives energy-efficiency advice and offers booklets and a video.

Customer Newsletters – These utility bill inserts contain general conservation messages along with other items of interest.  All Con Edison of New York customers receive six issues each year of Customer News. O&R's @home bill insert newsletter provides a lifestyle guide to energy services and ideas, and other useful information.

E-Bill Option – Both Con Edison of New York and O&R offer customers paperless billing. More trees are growing and fewer greenhouse gases are emitted as a result of the 10 million electronic customer payments processed last year. In addition to saving trees through increased electronic transactions, we've planted 7,000 new trees to thank customers who signed up for paperless billing.
